Change is certain.
Buy-in isn’t.

Most change initiatives – some say as high as 70-80% — fail. Why? Because creating employee buy-in is difficult work. Those that are good at change are agile and able to do new things quickly. They effectively align key stakeholders around the challenge, involve them in the solution, and engage them to adopt it.

Kimberly Douglas is a premier facilitation partner of ExperiencePoint , an award-winning learning and development company. She has designed and facilitated more than 80 change management consulting sessions with 2000+ participants, delivering proven results for organizations such as Coca-Cola, Home Depot, the CDC, AT&T, and Johnson & Johnson.

She uses ExperienceChange™ to simulate the challenges of real-world change, without the real-world scars. Through this facilitated learning session, Kimberly gives participants an opportunity to practice the tools and mindsets of effective change management. From analysis to planning and implementation, the experience delivers the essentials of a year-long change journey in a one-day workshop.

Who Should Attend &
What Will They Learn

  • Managers at all levels of change management experience
  • High potential leaders
  • Intact and/or cross-functional teams
  • Change project teams

At the conclusion of this facilitated learning experience, participants will be able to confidently answer ‘yes’ to the following statements:

  • I understand and have practiced using a proven change process.
  • I can guide my team through change – and effectively deal with any resistance.

In addition to the change management learnings, FireFly will facilitate dialogue and insights about effective team dynamics, a  particular area of expertise for Kimberly Douglas.

Change Management Workshops

 ExperienceChange
Jumpstart
(Half-Day)

For those who are time-crunched and for seasoned senior leaders, we recommend the “Play First” scenario. The simulation focuses on a company fraught with realistic change challenges. This half-day learning design immerses participants in the simulation right away and challenges them to apply what they currently understand about change to the situation at hand. A debrief and theory discussion follows with another chance for participants to play again – and immediately apply their new skills and mindsets.

ExperienceChange
Learn and Apply
(One-Day)

Take a 12-month change journey in a single day. Kimberly’s 25+ years of change management research and industry insights are packed into an intensive, one-day high-impact workshop. Through careful application of change management best practices to address GlobalTech’s realistic challenges, change teams build stakeholder buy-in and lead the company to success. The simulation provides learning-by-doing, followed by a powerful application focus. Thus, knowledge retention is optimized and change concepts become immediately relevant for your real-world project. Transformational
Change Leadership
(Two-Day)

Ideally suited for launching change teams – or for getting them back on track. Attendees participate in the ExperienceChange simulation on Day One with 45-60 minutes of debrief at the end of the day. On Day Two, they get to apply what they have learned to their own change project. First, they develop their compelling “why” message about the change they are leading. Second, they create an action plan for what needs to change and when. Lastly – and in a time of significant change, most critically – they create their change communication plan, including key audiences, messages, vehicles, and timing. You leave this session with your change plan developed – and your team dynamics strengthened through this shared experience.

ExperienceChange
Jumpstart
(Half-Day)

For those who can only spare a half-day session, we recommend the “Play First” scenario for the training. The participants will take 3 hours to play the simulation with no introduction to change management and no training on the change model or the theory (only training on how to navigate the online simulation). We then conduct a large group debrief of their key learnings – followed by the opportunity to apply what they learned and play the simulation again. This gives participants a great vehicle for “testing” their change leadership knowledge coming into the room – and then get to focus on specific areas for improving between round 1 and round 2 of the simulation. Especially recommended for senior leaders who have less time and a greater base of knowledge/experience level with leading transformational change.
